Hello friend and fellow traveler,
My name is Celeste. I grew up in the exciting city of New Orleans, Louisiana and came to Alaska with a friend for six months... that was almost thirty years ago! I fell head over heels in love with an Alaskan and the Last Frontier State.
I have had the great adventure of living on the Kenai Peninsula (including in a cabin on the Russian River for the summer), Fairbanks, Anchorage, and Juneau before settling in Sitka. Believe it or not, for many years I got to travel to remote villages for my job. One of my favorite adventures was waiting for a polar bear to clear the runway so that passengers could disembark on the North Slope. It was -70 F!
I can hardly wait to share my adopted state with you. I am familiar with just about every way you can see this state - planes (both jets and small float planes), boats (from personal craft to cruise ships), cars/RVs, and the fabulous Alaska Railroad.
